First, a rough sketch is drawn. It’s then turned into stark black outlines, that is known as cartoon. After the cartoon’s final version has been made the piece is now ready for stained glass. Each of the pieces of the mosaic is taken out of the mosaic and pasted onto a piece of glass. To make the characters pop out in the cartoon, each glass is selected according to the color and its texture. When the pieces are broken and ground down to the right size and then painted with an amalgamation of pigments and oxides. They are then matted, shaded before being joined with lead strips. Then, they are soldered and displayed.
